Accretion

Henri Papin (Meijers & Walsh)

Accretion is the thirteenth manifestation of the Henri Papin project conceived by artists Mish Meijers and Tricky Walsh. 

This installation is a series of domestic propositions which provide the fictional character of Henri with a base from which to continue to examine social patterns and behaviours.

Using the geological as a metaphor for those psychological qualities which develop beneath the figurative surfaces, Accretion is that which gathers and grows out of sight. It is a concentration of memories and mechanisms which  together formulate a kind of cognitive landscape inhabited by the absent character.
